1 November 2008
On Saturday, 1 November 2008, at around 19:00, Israeli gunboats, stationed in mid-sea opposite to Beit Lahia shore, opened fire from heavy guns towards Palestinian finishing boats.
Gunboats usually fire warning shots to prevent fishermen from going into deeper water or direct them towards other certain zones, limiting their access to better fishing zones.
It is noteworthy that fire shots are heard repeatedly at night and dawn.
No injuries or damages were reported.
