Around 6:15 p.m. on Friday, 4 August 2023, 16-year-old Omar Hussein Abu Telikh, a resident of Wadi Al-Salqa village, was admitted to Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah after being injured with shrapnel in his left leg and several other areas of his body. Field investigations indicate that the child sustained these injuries while he was playing with an explosive device when he was herding in an open area in the village. Medical sources described his injury as moderate. The police opened an investigation into the incident.
