Around midnight on Friday, 6 August 2021, an explosion near Bianco Family Resort in Beit Lahia, North Gaza, was reported. The explosion caused damage to the resort’s fence; no injuries were reported. The police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.
Incitive messages against the resort’s plan to hold a mixed, men and women, concert were circulating on Facebook shortly before the explosion. The posts_en described the concert as “vicious” and “immoral,” and called on the local authorities to stop it.
Al Mezan condemns the incident and warns of its destabilizing effects on the community. The authorities, notably the Office of the Public Prosecutor, must investigate the incident and hold the perpetrators accountable through a sound legal process, supporting the rule of law and restoring stability in Gaza.
