At 9pm on Monday, 16 April 2018, Habib Hijzai, 10-year old resident of western Rafah city, was shot by a live bullet and was taken to Abu Yousef Al Najjar Hospital in Rafah city and then referred to the European Gaza Hospital in Khan Younis. While near his house, located near Hijazi Fuel Station, Habib sustained wounds in the abdomen as result of the shooting, reported by the Palestinian police to have come randomly from Egyptian soil. Doctors assessed Habib’s injury to be between moderate and serious.
