At approximately 1:00 pm on Saturday, 31 December 2016, a fight erupted during the celebration of the 52nd anniversary of Fatah movement in the Unknown Soldier Square (locally known as Al Jundi Al Majhool square) in Omar Al Mokhtar street, in Gaza City. The fight started with hands and then it was developed and wooden staff were used. 11 persons were injured and admitted to Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza. Medical sources described their injuries as minor. The police opened an investigation into the incident.
