Medical resources at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza announced the death of Fawzi Abu Hamad, 23, at around 5:00am on Monday, 24 November 2008. He passed away due to injuries sustained in a mysterious explosion that occurred at around 10:55am on Saturday, 15 November 2008 near Abu Safia in eastern Jabalia. Abdallah al-Manaiya, 24, was killed in the explosion and Abu Hamad sustained serious injuries, according to medical resources. Field investigations show that the victims' bodies were burnt. Salah Eddin Brigades put up the victims, claiming they were of its members. They claimed that they were in a resistance task and bombed by the Israeli forces. Meanwhile, Israel denied that its forces targeted any persons in eastern Jabalia at that period of time.
