At 9:30am on Saturday, 10 February 2018, Israeli forces located on the eastern borders of Khan Younis opened fire and tear-gassed tens of adults and children joining demonstrations to the east of Khuzaa town of Khan Younis. The demonstrations were organized in protest of the latest U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Shooting and firing tear-gas canisters continued sporadically for several hours; several protesters suffered from breathing difficulties as a result and were treated in the field.
