One Protester Injured in Israeli Shooting in North Gaza

At 2:00pm on Friday, 23 March 2018, Israeli forces located on the eastern borders of Jabalia refugee camp and the northern borders of Beit Hanoun city and Beit Lahia city, in North Gaza governorate, opened fire and tear-gassed hundreds of children and young adult protesters joining popular demonstrations. Called for by various Palestinian factions, the demonstrations were held in protest of the latest U.S. decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Israeli soldiers opened fire and launched tear-gas canisters at protesters. One protester was moderately injured and was taken to the Indonesia Hospital. Other protesters affected by tear-gas were treated in the field. Confrontations continued until the evening of the same day.
