At approximately 14:30 on Friday, 1 April 2016, Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stationed at the border, east of Al-Bureij camp, opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at Palestinian young men and children taking part in a protest against the Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the West Bank. As a result, four protesters were injured including two children, one of which was hit by a tear gas canister in his right leg while the other three sustained bullet wounds. Paramedics of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society rushed two wounded protesters to Al Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al Balah, while the others were treated in the field. Clashes between protesters and the IOF lasted until 17:50.
