IOF Opens Fire at Palestinian Peaceful Protestors at Erez Crossing; Three Persons Injured

At approximately 2:40 pm on Friday 19 February 2016, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at tens of Palestinian young men and children who were participating in a popular event to protest against Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the broader West Bank. The clashes between the Israeli occupation forces and the young men took place at Erez crossing and continued until 5:00 pm on the same day. As a result, three participants were injured, among them a child: Mustafa Saed Mustafa Hasanin, 23, sustained a rubber-coated metal bullet at his head, Mohammed Samir Abdel Jawwad Al Taramesi, 22 and Mohammed Suhail Mohammed Abu Sharkh, 17, both sustained bullet wounds at their left legs. Medical sources at the Indonesian Hospital described their injures between moderate and minor.
