At approximately 2:30 pm on Friday, 5 February 2016, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at tens of young men and children who were participating in a popular event to protest against Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the broader West Bank. The clashes between the Israeli occupation forces and the young men took place at Erez crossing. t. Clashes between the Israeli side and Palestinian protestors continued until 4:00 pm on the same day. As a result, Shadi Abdelhadi Abdelkarim Ekhrewat, 19, sustained bullet wound in his left thigh. Medical sources at the Indonesian Hospital described his injury as moderate.
