At approximately 2:00 pm on Friday, 22 January 2016, Israeli occupation forces opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at a popularity event in solidarity with Jerusalem. The protest included young men and children who were near Erez crossing in North Gaza district. Clashes between the Israeli soldiers and Palestinian protestors continued until 5:00 pm on the same day. No casualties or injuries were reported.
