At approximately 2:00 pm on Friday, 22 January 2016, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at tens of young men and children who were participating in a popular event to protest against Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the broader West Bank. The  clashes between the Israeli occupation forces and the young men took place at the border areas east of Al Bureij refugee camp and continued until 5:00 pm on the same day. As a result, two people were injured; one sustained bullet wound in the right leg and the other sustained fracture in his right hand as he fall on the ground while he was trying to escape the Israeli shooting. They were admitted to Al Aqsa Hospital in Dier Al Balah to receive medical treatment.
