IOF Opens Fire and Injures Five Palestinians in Clashes East of Al Sheja’iya East of Gaza City

At approximately 1:30 pm on Friday, 15 January 2016, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at tens of young men and children who were participating in a popular event to protest against Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the broader West Bank. The clashes between the Israeli occupation forces and the young men took place at Nahal Oz crossing and its surrounding areas east of Al Shejai’ya neighborhood. Five people were injured. Three of them sustained live bullet wounds. A child sustained bullet wound in the head. The Clashes continued until 5:00 pm on the same day.
