At approximately 8:30 am on Wednesday 17 April 2013, Gaza police members beat and shaved the hair of Mousa Fat’hi Al Abiyad, 30, who was selling cigarettes near the Al Shatee refugee camp park.
In his affidavit to Al Mezan, Al Abiyad stated that he was selling cigarettes in front of the Al Shatee refugee camp park when a white car arrived.
Two police officers got out of the car and confiscated eight cigarettes boxes from him and took him to the police station.
He was beaten by hosepipe on his foot.
A police officer then came and shaved his hair and beat him again by hosepipe.
Few minutes later a police officer gave Al Abiyad “white powder” to sprinkle on his foot.
Two minutes later, red colors and bruises disappeared from Al Abiyad foot.
The police forced him to sign a document committing not to sell cigarette before releasing him.
