At approximately 1:00p.
m.
on Thursday 23 June 2011, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) stationed at the Erez crossing arrested AyoubAmin‘Abdal-Ghani‘Ataa-Allah, 19, while he was on his way back to the Gaza Strip.
Ayoub had a prosthetic limb installed in Slovenia and was on his way to Gaza when the IOF interrogated him and transferred him to Ashkelon prison.
Al Mezan’s lawyer has visited him and is following his case.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigation, on 24 April 2008 Ayoub‘Ataa-Allah was injured due to an Israeli attack that took place near his house in EzbetBeitHanoun.
As a result of his injuries, Ayoub’s right leg was amputated.
On 1 June 2011, Ayoub and 16 other injured persons managed to travel to Slovenia to receive medical treatment and prosthetic limbs after the intervention of the Martyrs and Injured Association.
In his affidavit to Al Mezan, Ayoub’s father stated that his son was supposed to arrive in the morning hours of 23 June.
The father went to Erez crossing,expecting that his son would arrive at the crossing at 1:00p.
m.
as scheduled.
At approximately 3:30p.
m.
on the same day, the 16 persons who had traveled with Ayoubexited the crossing,without Ayoub among them.
At approximately 5:00p.
m.
on the same day, the head of the Martyrs and Injured Association, MidhatTaha, coordinated with the SlovenianEmbassy in Israel, which informed him that Ayoub would be released in a few minutes.
Luggage couriersat the crossing informed the father that his son was on his way out the Erez crossing when the IOF called and arrested him.
At approximately 6:00p.
m.
on the same day, the head of the crossing, MaherAbu al-’Aouf, informed the Civil Affairs Office that Ayoub was being detained at the Ashkelon prison.
