Palestine Al Mezan's fieldworkers reported that Israeli vehicles and machinery were seen inside the settlement of Nisanit during the day.
They appeared to be starting the demolition of buildings and removal of caravans inside the settlement.
Thousands of Palestinians gathered today to perform the Friday prayer and a special prayer of thanks in the wake of the disengagement.
The prayer took place opposite the buffer zone around the Rafah settlements, and was secured by Palestinian police forces charged with attempting to protect those gathered “from Israeli fire especially from the nearby watchtowers,� Palestinian police said.
The Israeli army today deployed more forces inside the Al Mawasi area following the escape of fifteen settlers from a bus into the area.
The settlers were being evacuated from the settlement of Gadid.
The Israeli army reported that all the settlers were arrested.
