The disengagement entered its fourth and, thus far, most difficult day today.
In general the process appears to be moving very fast and latest reports suggest that ten of the 21 settlements being evacuated are now empty: Dugit, Nisanit, Tel Katifa, Ganei Tal, Bedolah, Kerem Atzmona, Pe,at Saadeh, Morag, Shalev (Slav) and Rafiah Yam.
However, the army and police are facing serious resistance from settlers in the settlement of Kfar Darom.
Settlers have sabotaged army and police vehicles, and set fire to a bus.
There are also reports that two soldiers involved in the evacuation of the settlement have now refused orders and joined the settlers.
In the biggest settlement in Gaza, Neve Dekalim, most residents appear to have left, however hard-line anti-disengagement protestors who infiltrated Gaza in recent months have barricaded themselves into buildings.

The Israeli army yesterday mined and then destroyed the house of Urabi Fadl Al Lahham, in the south of the Al Muwassi area of Khan Younis.
The house was completely destroyed and three neighboring homes were also damaged.
The house had been home to 16 people.
Meanwhile, the army also arrested both Urabi Fadl Al Lahham and his son Ala Hasan Al Lahham.
The army further arrested 28-year-old Imad Ash Shair at 10am today.
According to the residents of the area, the army has ordered them to stay inside their homes, and military vehicles are blocking streets in the area.
The enclave of Al Muwassi remains closed, with all movement out of the area prohibited and the road between the Rafah and Khan Yunis parts of Al Muwassi closed.
Hundreds of settlers opposed to the disengagement gathered yesterday on the bridge over the Kissufim road.
The group was protesting the withdrawal from Gaza.
The bridge on which the protest occurred runs next to the Abu Holi checkpoint, which divides up the Gaza Strip.
On Thursday the checkpoint was open from 12.
20am to 5am after which it closed.
It is not expected to reopen until early morning.
The Israeli army has been engaging in both building and dismantling military posts_en.
Overnight, Al Mezan's fieldworkers report, the army began dismantling a military site near the settlement of Dugit in the north of the Gaza Strip.
However, another two military sites are reportedly being constructed near the Erez crossing.
One is being built inside the Green Line to the north of the Nisanit settlement, and the other to the east of Beit Hanoun.
Meanwhile, in Beit Hanoun itself, Israeli army vehicles began leveling land yesterday in an area adjacent to an existing military site.
The Israeli army have occupied another Palestinian house.
Israeli army tanks reportedly entered Deir Al Balah yesterday evening and soldiers broke into the house of Mohammed At Tawashi.
The 25 residents of the house were forced into one room on the ground floor, while soldiers occupied the second and third floors.
The house is being used as an observation point.
Settler violence against Palestinians continues as the disengagement proceeds.
Yesterday afternoon, settlers from Kfar Darom entered Palestinian areas of the Gaza Strip and then proceeded to attack Palestinian houses.
Sheds and other property were set on fire, and several Palestinians fled their homes carrying whatever they could with them.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, settlers from Shiryat Yam began throwing stones at Palestinians in the Al Muwassi enclave.
The Israeli army today opened fire near the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun.
At approximately 10:30pm, soldiers at a military post opened fire.
They hit Ismail At Tarabin, aged 28, who was critically wounded in the abdomen, according to Palestinian hospital sources.
