At approximately 3:30 pm on Friday, 24 February 2017, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at a non-violent weekly demonstration. The demonstration, launched in solidarity with the Palestinians being targeted and oppressed in East Jerusalem and the broader West Bank, was comprised of tens of people gathered southeast Al Bureij camp. As a result, the child Mohammed Iyad Mohammed Al Taweel, 16, sustained a bullet wound in his left leg. Palestinian Red Crescent Society ambulance admitted him to Al Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al Balah. It’s worth mentioning that Al Taweel is resident of Al Maghzi camp and he studies at Al Manfalouti school.
