Police Take Over Memorial Ceremony in Tel Az Za'tar; Confiscate Weapons and Arrest Citizens

8pm, on 12 April 2008, the police surrounded the entrances that led to a memorial service for Ismail Abu An Nasserr in Tel Az Za'tar neighborhood.
The police erected checkpoints on the road and searched any car that tried to exit the area.

The police also confiscated some weapons that partcipants were carrying, and arrested many citizens who participated in the ceremony.
Those arrested were identified as: 19-year-old Mohammed Hassan Salha; 19-year-old Saed Hassan Abu Habel; 20-year-old Hamdy Khalil Al Halabi; and, Two brothers from Al Bas family, whose names will remain anonymous.

It is noteworthy that the ceremony, held in eastern Gaza City, concluded the mourning period of Abu An Nasser, who had been killed.
The ceremony was organized by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

During the ceremony, the participants had opened fire intensively.
After PFLP members intervened, the police lifted the seige on the ceremony.
Three hours after the incident, the detainees were released.
