According to Al Mezan’s investigation, Abu Telikh was imprisoned on 28 March 2021 on criminal charges and then transferred to Khan Younis Reform and Rehabilitation Center on 27 July 2021. His family confirmed that he did not have health concerns in the past.
According to the superintendent of the Khan Younis Reform and Rehabilitation Center, at around 8am on Saturday, 2 April 2022, Abu Telikh complained of heartburn after eating breakfast.
