At 12:30 pm on Monday, 3 February 2020, Israeli naval forces stationed along Rafah’s western coast opened fire using rubber-coated metal bullets alongside live ammunition at Palestinian fishermen sailing within five nautical miles off the coast and chased after them. The Israeli forces then seized fishing equipment including 120 fishing nets that belong to the following Palestinian fishermen: Tarek Zeyad Hassan, 33, his brother Ameer, 32, and Mohammed Mahdi Abu Riyala, 17. All of them are Gaza residents. No casualties were reported, but the fishermen had to escape ashore in fear of further Israeli harassment.
