On Monday morning 5 May 2014, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) closed Erez crossing and informed the coordination office of the Palestinian civil affairs in advance.
At approximately 1:00 pm on the same day, the crossing was opened for people to enter Gaza.
The total closure continued on Tuesday 6 May 2014 and it will normally open on Wednesday morning 7 May 2014.
According to Al Mezan’s filed investigations, the closure comes due to the anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel.
Tens of patients, humanitarian needs, traders and foreigners were hindered from entering and patients will have to wait for new hospitals’ appointments and new permission.
