On the 5th of September 2007, members of the Executive Force (EF) and Al Qassam Brigades of Hamas arrested 50 Fatah activists from the north of the Gaza City. Those arrested were taken to the former Intelligence Apparatus building "Al Mashtal", and other police stations. They were released after being tortured and forced to sign pledges preventing them from taking part in any political activity or making contact with the Fateh leadership in Ramallah.
