The Al Mezan Centre for Human Rights strongly condemns the continued, systematic attacks by the IOF against the Palestinian civilians, particularly farmers who work in their fields near the borders.
Al Mezan's monitoring indicates that the IOF attacks linked to the 'buffer zone' occur within an area that extends well beyond one kilometer from Gaza's eastern and northern borders.
Thisresulted in the theft of 17% of Gaza’s total geographical area and 35% of lands devoted to Palestinian agriculture, the basic source of livelihood for thousands of Palestinian families.
Therefore, Al Mezan reiterates its previous call on the international community to promptly intervene to provide protection for civilians in the occupied Palestinian territory.
It also calls on the international community to take all necessary measures to end Israel’s gross violations of human rights, to bring the perpetrators to justice.
