Over the last two days the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) have escalated their aggression and launched a series of aerial attacks throughout the Gaza Strip, as a result of which 15 persons were injured, including four children.
Two mosques and a company were damaged.
Studying at five schools located east of Khan Younis was suspended.
According to documentation by the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, at approximately 9:00 am on Monday 8 October 2012, an Israeli aircraft fired a missile at an open field in the vicinity of Affana Farm east of Rafah.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
In a separate incident, at approximately 7:15 am on the same day, the IOF fired three artillery shells at Al Amal Company for Asphalt northeast of Wadi Gaza Village.
The company is about 800 meters away from the separation fence between Gaza Strip and Israel.
As a result, the company sustained financial damages.
At approximately 6:30 am on the same day, IOF fired several artillery shells and opened sporadic fire at the east parts of Khan Younis.
The firing lasted for about two hours.
As a result, five persons were injured.
As a result, Ammar Bin Yaser Mosque and Al Hidayia Mosque were damaged.
Studying at five adjacent schools was suspended.
At approximately 5:50 pm on Sunday 7 October 2012, an Israeli aircraft fired a missile targeting a motorcycle driving in Haroun Ar-Rasheed in Al Brazil neighborhood south of Rafah.
As a result, Tal’at Khalil Ad-Darbi, 23, and Abdullah Hasan Mohammed Mekawi, 24, sustained critical injuries.
They were admitted to Shifa Hospital in Gaza and Euoropean Hospital in Rafah.
Another eight passersby were injured, including four children.
The Al Mezan Center for Human Rights strongly condemns Israel’s almost daily attacks and its escalation of violence against civilians and their properties.
Al Mezan warns from a new Israeli escalation; particularly under the silence of the international community which has only encouraged Israel to violate international law and human rights with impunity.
Al Mezan reiterates its previous call on the international community, particularly High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention, to uphold its obligations, to promptly intervene to end the Israeli violations, and to bring perpetrators to justice.
