Al Mezan Condemns Detonating Explosive Device near a House in Gaza and Calls for Investigation

At approximately 11:35pm on Wednesday 2 February 2011, unknown persons detonated an explosive device near a house of Raed Abdel Kareem Yousif Khadra, 36.
The house is about 240 square meters and is located in near the Engineering Union in the Ar-Remal neighborhood in Gaza city.
As a result, the house was severely damaged and destroyed external and internal walls as well as the windows in the house.
  The house compromises of three stories and hosts 20 residents; nine of them are children.
Five adjacent houses were also partially damaged as a result of the explosion.
  In his affidavit to Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, the owner of the house said that his house was attacked in the past and that this attack was the third.
  Al Mezan's field worker called the spokespersons of the Ministry of Interior and the police, but did not receive any statement of position from them.
  Al Mezan Center for Human Rights strongly condemns this attack which caused major physical damage to a house, and calls on the Gaza Government to initiate a prompt, serious investigation into the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Al Mezan also calls for information investigations into previous similar incidents to be disclosed by the police.
