At 22:00 on Thursday, 1 February 2018, Israeli forces arrested four Palestinian boys while they were trying to cross the eastern borders of Al Shoka town in eastern Rafah. The boys were: Mohammed Ahmed Al Tarabin, 17; Bashar Ibrahim Al Tarabin, 16; Ahmed Mohammed Al Sofi, 17; and Mohammed Abdulaziz Abu Khatla, 17. Israeli forces took these four boys to an unknown destination. Their families were notified of their arrest through a call by the Israeli forces.
