At approximately 3:00 pm on Friday 24 January 2014, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) fired live ammunition and launched tear gas canisters at tens of young Palestinian men and children who were east of the Islamic Cemetery east of Jabaliya, in northern Gaza.
As a result, seven people were injured including a child.
One of the injured sustained a bullet wound and four others sustained rubber coated steel bullet injuries.
Two were injured due to the inhalation of tear gaz.
Al Mezan has identified the names of the injured people as follows:
Mu’az Muneer Abu Ghbaiet, 18, sustained a bullet injury in the right thigh;
Abdullah Mohammed ‘Awad, 22, sustained rubber coated steel bullet injury in the right hand causing a fracture;
Mohammed Naser Abu Qamar, 18, sustained rubber coated steel bullet injury in the left hand;
Salim Nafez Abu ‘Asser, 21, sustained rubber coated steel bullet injury in the right leg;
Yihya Mammdouh Al Jammal, 20, sustained rubber coated steel bullet injury in the back;
Bahaa Mahmoud Al Madhoun, 17, injury due to inhalation of tear gas; and
Nizar Muhei Ad-Deen Zaqout, 22, injury due to inhalation of tear gas.
