On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the 1st through 3rd of July 2013, armed men took hostage seven Palestinians from various locations north of Gaza City.
The civilians were taken to unidentified locations where they were subjected to severe beating; they were then left in different areas in Jabalyia on Thursday, July 4th 2013 at approximately 2:00 am.
Al Mezan identified the victims as follows:
Hani Al tatari, 22;
Hatim Al Fa’r, 37;
Mahmoud Al Dao’r, 22;
Shahir Abu Dahir, 35;
Khalid Asalyia, 24;
Yussif Abu Shamas, 34;
Wa’el Abu Ghazal, 25.
According to medical staff, each victim was brought in with severe breaks in their legs.
The staff operated on the victims, with the insertion of titanium rods required to reset the bones.
The victims sustained various other injuries, including bruising to different areas of their bodies.
According to some of the injured victims’ accounts, armed men – some of them masked - kidnapped them and took them to a farm, which they were unable to identify, where they were tortured and beaten.
The armed men escaped after dumping the victims in different public places in the area of Twam, fakhoura, and Huja St.
in Jabalyia.
