At approximately 8:30 am on Monday 21 January 2013, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire at a number of Palestinian civilians who were collecting scrap and rubble and hunting birds from the destroyed structures east of the Islamic cemetery area near the border fence between Gaza and Israel east of Jabaliya. No casualties or injuries were reported.
