At approximately 9:00 pm on Saturday 5 May 2012, unknown persons detonated an explosive device at the entrance of a house belongs to Ali Abdullah Abu Zaid, 38.
The asbestos-roofed house is located in Block 2 in Al Bureij refugee camp, is about 100 square meters in area, and hosts nine family members, including six children.
As a result, the house and two adjacent houses were damaged.
Mrs Fat’hia Mohammed Abu Zaid, 60, suffers from heart disease and was admitted to Al Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al Balah as she was panicked.
The police arrived at the scene and opened an investigation.
