At approximately 10:15 pm on Monday 6 February 2012, two armed men opened fire at Yousif Mahdi Mesbah Abu Obeid, 20, and Othman Mohammed Hasan Mansour, 38, as they were near the Al Amal Center for the Handicapped in the Yebna neighborhood of southern Rafah. As a result, Abu Obeid was killed and Mansour sustained a bullet wound in the chest. Medical sources at Abu Yousif An-Najjar Hospital described his injury as critical.
