At approximately 5:00 pm on Tuesday 16 August 2011, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire at Sa'ad Abdel-Raheem Mohammed Al Majdalwai, 17, when he approached the separation fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel east of Deir Al Balah.
In their affidavits to Al Mezan, residents of that area stated that they heard three bullets fired by the IOF.
At approximately 8:40 pm on the same day, the IOF allowed an ambulance from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society to enter the area after having coordination arrangements between the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Israeli side.
The dead body of the boy was admitted to the Al Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al Balah town.
Medical sources stated that the boy was killed after sustaining three bullets in the head (with an entrance and an exit) and the shoulders.
According to Al Mezan's field investigations, the boy was mentally challenged.
In his affidavit to Al Mezan, the ambulance driver stated that the boy's body was found about eight meters away from the separation fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel and he was dressed in civilian clothes.
