At approximately 10:00 a.
m.
on Monday 19 July 2011, the Internal Security Apparatus (ISA) summoned Mazen Shahin, a member of the Fatah movement of west Khan Younis.
, to its office in that district.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, the ISA detained and interrogated Shahin about his activities with the General Union of Palestinian Youth, which is linked to the Palestinian Liberation Organization, and the union’s sponsors.
Mr.
Shahin is the head of the preparatory committee of the Union.
At approximately 12:30 p.
m.
on the same day, the Security Apparatus released him, but only after issuing him another summons to appear at the ISA office on Wednesday 20 July 2011.
ISA authorities did not release Shahin until they had interrogated him about matters related to the General Union of Palestinian Youth, such as the groups which support it, the sponsors, and the members of the union.
The interrogation lasted until 12:30p.
m.
