At approximately 9:30 p.
m.
on Tuesday 12 July 2011, Israeli naval vessels patrolling the sea opened fire on Palestinian fishing boats north of al-Waha resort off the coast of the town of Beit Lahiya in the North Gaza district.
The firing lasted for about 20 minutes and scared the fishermen on the boats, who sailed to land immediately.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
