Car Explosion Injures 2; Causes Abortion

At approximately 4am on Sunday 2 January 2011, two persons were injured and a woman lost her unborn baby as a result of a car explosion.
The car was parked at the entrance of a house located in Block (4) in the Al Bureij refugee camp.
The house consists of two stories and hosts 14 residents including ten children, and is owned by Dr.
Mohammed Ibrahim Mahmoud, 32.
According to information available to Al Mezan, the explosion was big and caused fire.
The family stored fuel for the use of the electricity generator and a gas canister for household use at the house.
There was also a motorcycle in the place.
The house sustained major damage as a fire ignited and reached the furniture, windows and doors.
Twenty neighboring houses were also damaged due to the explosion.
One of the neighbors was injured in the head.
In addition, a car that was parked near the house was damaged.
The police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the explosion.
According to the owner of the house, the police arrested one person for questioning.
Al Mezan identified the names of the injured persons as follows: ·         Adeel Talal Mohammed Mahmoud, 32, who pregnant and lost her unborn baby; ·         Mohammed Ibrahim Mahmoud, 32; was injured from fragments of widows glass in the legs; and ·         Ahmed Oda As-Sakran, 35, was injured in the head.
