The Gaza Government police ordered a sit-in in front of the Electricity Distribution Company in the Al Maghazi refugee camp canceled.
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) had called for the sit-in in protest against the electricity cut-offs.
It was scheduled to take place at 11am on Saturday 7 August 2010.
According to one of the organizers, DFLP had informed the police with the intent of the group to organize a sit-in.
Later he received a phone call from the police informing him that the police decided to prevent the event.
DFLP said they would organize the sit-in on Tuesday 10 August at 11am.
