At app. 9.30am on 17 April 2007, gunmen stopped the car of Mohammad Mazen Ezzdine, 36, officer within the Intelligence Apparatus, while driving down the costal road close to Al Zahra town's crossroads. He fought with the gunmen who failed to kidnap him; they stole his cell phone and personal gun and fled.
