At approximately 7.40, on Sunday 2 September 2007, Bassam Wasfi Jaber, 38, was admitted to Shuhada'a Al Aqsa hospital in Deir Al Balah, as he sustained shots in his legs. According to the field information, three unknown gunmen opened fire Jaber while he was heading to his work in the middle of An-Nusirat Refugee Camp. He was later transferred to the Shifa hospital in Gaza to undergo medical treatment.
