The state of insecurity in Gaza has struck Al Mezan's office in Gaza today.
When the Center's director opened his office, he noticed that his office was broken into and the safe busted open.
The safe's pieces were scattered on the ground together with the unsigned checks.
However, all the cash disappeared.
There was $400 and NIS 1,500 in the safe.
Nothing else was missing; including the computers and laptops.
Notably, the Center's doors and windows were not broken.
The director's office was locked.
It will be for the police to investigate and give answers to the many questions around this felony.
It must be highlighted that Al Mezan tried to contact the police or the Executive Force for over an hour, but received no answer.
One of the staff members drove to one of the police stations to report the burglary.
It is assumed that the burglary took place late at night as some of the staff members were at the office until a late hour last night.
Al Mezan Center for Human Rights calls The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) to initiate a prompt investigation into this assault and bring the perpetrators to justice.
In the light of this deed, the Center also calls for restoring law and order in the Gaza Strip.
