At 2pm on Friday, 27 April 2018, Israeli forces located on the eastern borders attacked with live ammunition, rubber-coated steel bullets, and tear-gas grenades children, youth and women joining the “Great Return March” demonstration held in eastern Rafah governorate. 187 demonstrators, including 49 children and seven women were injured. Of them, 21 were injured by live fire, seven by shrapnel, three by rubber-coated steel bullets, 154 by tear gas, and one by a tear-gas grenade. Medical sources have stated that three of these casualties are in critical condition. Of those who suffered from gas inhalation were six paramedics, and two journalists: Mohammed Abu Sultan, 29-year old photojournalist, and Ramzi Al Shakreet, 34-year old photojournalist, both working for Safad Press.
