At 10:30a.m. on Tuesday, 6 February 2018, Khaled Hamdan Ibrahim Al Ghazali, 34-year old resident of western Gaza, was summoned by the general intelligence apparatus to its office within the police station station near Al Abbas roundabout in Gaza city. Al Ghazali reports that in the evening of Thursday, 1 February 2018, he received a call from the general intelligence and was asked to show up at the apparatus’ station on Sunday, 4 February 2018. No reasons for this summon order were given during the call. At 10:30a.m. on Tuesday, 6 February 2018, once Al Ghazali arrived to the apparatus station, he was arrested and transferred to the general intelligence office located in the central police station in Gaza city. His charge was “incitement against the government”, and he had to sign a written pledge to commit to abiding by the law by not participating in any anti-government incitement activities or joining popular movements destabilizing the public order. Al Ghazali was released at around 12:20p.m. on Wednesday, 7 February 2018.
