Short Link:
At approximately 7:00 pm on Tuesday, 23 August 2016, Israeli gunboats opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats which were in the sea of Al Waha area western Beit Lahiya in North Gaza district. According to Al Mezan’s filed investigations, Israeli gunboats pursued fishermen boats for about two nautical miles in an attempt to surround a fishing boat, but fishermen managed to flee. Fishermen who were in the area abandoned their work for the day, and sailed back to the shore immediately, a reflection of menace associated with the Israeli presence. No injuries or causalities were reported.
