At approximately 3:00 PM on Friday, 22 April 2016, Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire and lunched tear gas canisters at tens of young men and children who were participating in a protest against Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the West Bank. The protest took place to the east of Al-Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City. Clashes between the Israeli soldiers and Palestinian protestors lasted until 7:30 PM. As a result, three protesters were injured, one of which sustained a bullet wound while the others suffered effects of tear gas inhalation. Medical sources at Al Shifa Hospital described their injuries as mild to moderate. Crews of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) treated other protestors, who suffered from the effects of teargas inhalation, in the field.
