At dawn on Wednesday, 6 April 2016, Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stationed at the eastern border arrested Mahmoud Jasser Awad Al Atawna, 28, resident of Jabalia camp. Mahmoud’s father told Al Mezan that on Wednesday his son went out and did not return home. He informed the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) of his son’s disappearance. On 13 April 2016, ICRC informed Mahmoud’s father that the IOF has arrested his son near the border, east of Rafah city.
