At approximately 2:00 pm on Friday, 8 January 2016, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at tens of young men and children who were participating in a popular event to protest against Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the broader West Bank. The clashes between the Israeli occupation forces and the young men took place at Erez crossing and its surrounding and continued until 5:45 pm on the same day. As a result, 3 people were injured. Al Mezan has identified their names as follows:
They are all residents of Jabaliya. Medical sources at the Indonesian Hospital described their injuries as moderate. It’s worth mentioning that the weather was rainy and the storm was the reason for ending the clashes.
