Fourteen-year-old Fatma from Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip was killed when her house was bombarded by Israeli missiles at 1:00 am on 10 July 2014. The whole family was killed, except her brother Yaser, who was outside the house, and her sister Fedaa, who was in her husband’s house.
She was a calm child and excellent at school. Her family was having economic hardships.
“When she had no money to pay the fees for a school journey, her teacher paid for her,” her aunt says. Fatma’s body was never found, but a braid of her hair was found.
