17-year-old Fadi Nasser Ismail Al Quasmi from Khan Younis hoped to become a doctor or an engineer. He worried a lot about not being able to achieve his goals because of the terrible economic situation in the Gaza Strip. He was a little shy and introverted and very close to his father who he tried to emulate. His father saw Fadi as a friend and encouraged him to try to enjoy life in spite of all the difficulties.
On 1 August 2014, Fadi went to the mosque to pray with his friend Omar Barbakh, 15, when an Israeli drone attacked them. Fadi and Omar were instantly killed.
