4-year-old Yamin Al Hamidi from Al Zawaida was a noisy and sometimes naughty little boy who loved food. He was also very sensitive and liked animals. Yamin had become very close to his uncle because his father was living abroad. Before he was killed he’d been looking forward to his upcoming birthday; his uncle had promised to throw a party for him.
In the early hours of 13 July 2014, an Israeli warplane bombarded a piece of land next to Yamin’s house, destroying part of Yamin’s house in the process. Yamin sustained serious injuries in the attack and was rushed to the hospital. He died four days later on 17 July 2014. His uncle threw the party at Yamen’s kindergarten for his friends on what would have been his fifth birthday to celebrate Yamen and remember him. “I want to go to Allah and bring Yamin back. Why did the Israelis kill him? What did he do?” Yamin’s little cousin, aged 4, says.
